‘Surviving Austerity: working together to support our community’ – FITH’s 2014 stakeholder event

Date: 14 Feb 2014

Time: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

On 14th February, the Financially Inclusive Tower Hamlets (FITH) partnership will host its annual stakeholder event at Toynbee Hall.

What is the event about?

At a time when the cost of living is increasing and salary rises remain below inflation, the FITH partnership aims to work towards a borough where the poorest people are not the ones paying the most for goods and services.

The ‘Surviving Austerity’ event will include a celebration and showcase existing FITH projects, as well as the launch of its latest and exciting strand of work funded by the Big Lottery Fund: Getting on with Money. The Tower Hamlets Financial Inclusion Strategy Action Plan and priorities for 2014/15 will also be presented at the event. There will be a ‘speed dating’ opportunity to network with other agencies, share experiences, knowledge and advice. Finally, workshops will be available, in order to equip participants with practical ideas, skills and resources to work towards financial inclusion amongst clients, tenants and advisees.

Who is this event for?

The event is intended for and would be especially useful to all those who wish to combat financial exclusion through their work. This includes housing providers, employment organisations, community and voluntary sector representatives, financial service industry representatives, education providers, and children & family services representatives.
