Justice cuttings: Legal aid cuts and experiences of accessing justice for those in need
Date: 09 Nov 2015
Time: 3pm - 6:30pm
A seminar to share findings from our research into the impact of cuts to legal aid
At Toynbee Hall we have witnessed firsthand the impact of the cuts to legal aid funding. Many of the people who come through our doors in need of legal advice are vulnerable and in desperate situations with nowhere else to turn.
Toynbee Hall and Middlesex University are hosting a seminar to share findings from our research into the impact of legal aid and other funding cuts on access to justice for those in need.
In our joint research, we conducted quantitative and qualitative studies to explore the needs and experiences of people affected by cuts to legal aid.
Supported by the Social Policy Association, we will host the event to share our findings and invite academics, service providers and other interested parties to discuss the impact of legal aid and other cuts on different groups and communities and to help identifying possible solutions to this access to justice crisis.
