Goodbye Simon and good luck
Published: 26 Aug 2015
After 25 years of service, our longest serving volunteer Simon is leaving Toynbee Hall to start a course at a local college in September.
On Thursday 20 August, Simon’s friends, fellow volunteers and Toynbee Hall staff gathered in the Ashbee Hall to give him a memorable send off and say thank you for 25 years of service. He received a parting gift before a round of stories and speeches were shared, wishing Simon all the best.
Over the past 25 years Simon has provided help and support to a number of projects, including Capitalise and the Wellbeing Centre, as well as the Finance & Admin team. Volunteers are at the heart of Toynbee Hall’s work and have been since 1884. Last year alone we saw over 400 volunteers devote their time to our services.
So much has changed here in the last 25 years but Simon has been a constant factor to it all. I want to say thank you to Simon for everything he’s done and wish him every success in the future.”
Graham Fisher, Toynbee Hall Chief Executive
Simon is one of the most popular characters at Toynbee Hall and he will be missed by all. We wish him the very best for the future and good luck with his college course.
