Building Financially Healthy Communities

Published: 16 Apr 2016

On 6th April, The Financial Health Exchange held the first in a series of ‘Building Financially Healthy Communities’ events across the UK.

The Financial Health Exchange is an online portal developed at Toynbee Hall to help organisations throughout the UK put financial health and inclusion at the heart of their work. It will help organisations to ensure that financial health good practice is followed in all of their work with clients and service users.

40 people joined the Exchange in Blaina, Wales, at an event kindly hosted by Tai Calon Housing. Representatives from a cross-section of the sector, including social landlords, credit unions, local advice and community organisations, and local authorities. Representatives from the Welsh government and the DWP also attended the event.

The day focused on sharing what we’ve learned as a sector about how we can transform the financial health of people in our communities. Thought-provoking presentations from guest speakers from Cadwyn Housing, The Money Advice Service and Toynbee Hall and lively afternoon workshops left participants with examples of good practice and inspired new ideas for improving people’s financial health.

If you’re interested in all things Financial Health, join the Exchange for free and access a library of resources and information.
