Published: 27 Feb 2017

We are thrilled to announce that Shān Nicholas has been appointed as interim Chief Executive and will take over after Graham Fisher departs at the end of March to take over at Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation.

Shān joins Toynbee Hall with a wealth of experience having worked as a Chief Executive since 2005 and has previously held interim Chief Executive roles at major charities including; British Institute of Human Rights, Child Poverty Action Group, Brook London, YWCA England & Wales, The Children's Society, The Refugee Council, British Association for Adoption and Fostering and United Response. Shān has taken over these charities on an interim basis at times of transition with complex services, multiple stakeholders and budgets ranging from £2m-£80m.

I am delighted to be joining Toynbee Hall and feel privileged to be able to contribute to its crucial work with some of the UK's most deprived communities. I have long since been aware of Toynbee's work to tackle social injustice and create sustainable change and am very much looking forward to working with the staff team and Trustees to build on its success and innovation during this interim period.”
