Cleary Gottlieb Women's Working Group raise over £1,400 for our Free Legal Advice Clinics

Published: 24 Apr 2017

Since 2015, Cleary Gottlieb has been working in partnership with Toynbee Hall to support the women’s only free legal advice clinic which had faced closure due to funding constraints. Cleary’s London office is now in its second year of sponsorship and continues to provide legal advice volunteers each month. Cleary lawyers have dedicated over 400 hours to the project and have helped countless women to manage their legal issues.

On Thursday 30th March, the Cleary Gottlieb Women’s Working Group held an informal networking event at Spring, Somerset House. Cleary hosted an mixture of female alumni and clients as well as guest speakers from Toynbee Hall. The event was aimed at raising awareness of Toynbee Hall’s free legal advice clinics and also featured a raffle with all proceeds going to Toynbee Hall.

The current total of funds raised stands at £1,418.24, and the Cleary Gottlieb London partners have kindly agreed to match this amount.  Cleary is currently in the process of arranging future fundraising events in support of Toynbee Hall.
