Published: 2 Oct 2017

On Monday 2nd October, Jim Minton, formerly Director of Membership and Communications at London Youth, starts his new role as Chief Executive of Toynbee Hall.

Jim was appointed in July and will replace Shan Nicholas who took on the role on an interim basis after the departure of Graham Fisher.

Jim has more than 15 years’ experience of high profile leadership roles in the voluntary sector and in government and is currently Director of Membership and Communications at London Youth. Prior to this he was Head of Strategy at DHA Communications and a Senior Civil Servant within the Home Office. He is a trustee of an East London refugee charity, and earlier in his career held senior roles at charities Centrepoint and NCVO.

"I am really excited and privileged to be joining the team at Toynbee Hall. It is an incredibly important time for everyone who wants to tackle poverty and social injustice, and I want to ensure that our evidence and learning is informing the policy environment, while we continue to give people excellent services and a better chance to shape their own future.

I feel very fortunate to be joining an organisation with such a strong history, such a range of partners and supporters and with its wealth of expertise, and hope that we can together make significant and positive change."
