Become a Barnett Fellow

Published: 9 May 2013

The department of Social Policy and intervention at the University of Oxford is inviting applications to the Barnett Fellowship.

The Barnett Fellowship is a unique research collaboration between academics in Oxford and Toynbee Hall’s Inspire programme. Building on the work of Aspire, the Inspire project supports young people aged 14+ to actively engage with the world around them, both as volunteers and peer mentors.

The research will entail training young people as researchers and working with them to explore ways in which the geographic spaces within which young people live and grow define what they do now and their aspirations for the future.

The Barnett fellow will develop the research with support from Dr Elaine Chase and Professor Robert Walker.

This is an excellent career opportunity, offering the Fellow the opportunity to be fully involved in the academic life of Oxford University and working with our staff and young people in Tower Hamlets.

The position is full time for a 13 months period from September 2013. The deadline is on 4th of June 2013.
