Warm hearts campaign donations for the Wellbeing Centre
Published: 8 Jan 2014
As part of their Warm Hearts Campaign, Muslim Aid delivered 100 Winter Warmer packs to Toynbee Hall’s Wellbeing Centre service users. The kits contained fleece blankets, hats, gloves, scarves and room thermometers to help those most in need through the coldest time of year in our community.
Winter is the most dangerous season for vulnerable members of society, especially for the elderly. As temperatures drop, they are more prone to contracting or worsening respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses. To worsen this, isolation also means that, many of these ailments go untreated. Through their Warm Hearts campaign, Muslim Aid manages to help those who need it the most throughout the winter months.
Thanks to the Muslim Aid’s donation, our most vulnerable service users were able to get a little extra warmth during this cold time of the year. It was really nice to work with Muslim Aid for the second consecutive year and we are grateful for their support. Our Wellbeing Centre services include: Lunch Club, Surma, City50 + and LinkAge Plus.
We would like to thank Muslim Aid and all those who donated to their campaign. Their ongoing support is invaluable to Toynbee Hall, and it enables us to provide for some of the essential needs of our service users.
