FAQs

Why are monthly gifts helpful?

All gifts to Toynbee Hall help us support those in crisis and build communities. Regular gifts to Toynbee Hall provide financial stability and are vital in helping us plan for the future and develop long-term solutions to poverty.

How is my donation spent?

 Where your money goes

Of every £1 you donate, we spend 84p to help people directly and 4p to raise the next pound. 1p goes on governance, 8p goes on estate and investment and 2p goes on trading.

Can I donate by post?

Yes. Simply make a cheque or postal order payable to ‘Toynbee Hall' and send it to: Development Team, Toynbee Hall, The Community Centre, 52 Old Castle Street, London, E1 7AJ. Unfortnately, we cannot currently accept credit or debit card donations this way- please use our secure online donation system.

Can I donate by phone?

Unfortunately we’re currently unable to process payments in-house.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a Government scheme where charities can claim back the tax you've already paid on donations. So if you are a UK tax payer, we can claim back 25% of the value of your gift at no cost to you. That means that a gift of £20 is actually worth £25 to Toynbee Hall.
